Sefton and Liverpool City Region in Tier 2: High alert

Wednesday, December 2, 2020

Sefton and the Liverpool City Region are in Tier 2, ‘High alert’ of the government’s COVID-19 alert system.

You can see the full list of restrictions for tier 2 and other tiers here. The tiers will be reviewed every two weeks, with the first review complete by the end of 16 December.

Here is a summary of some of the key restrictions in tier 2:

  • You must not socialise with anyone you do not live with or who is not in your support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place
  • You can see friends and family you do not live with (or do not have a support bubble with) outdoors, in a group of no more than 6 - this limit of 6 includes children of any age
  • If you are clinically vulnerable you can go outside as much as you like but you should still try to keep your overall social interactions low
  • There is separate guidance for support bubbles and childcare bubbles across all tiers
  • Pubs and bars must close, unless operating as restaurants
  • Hospitality venues can only serve alcohol with substantial meals
  • Pubs and restaurants must close by 11pm – last orders will be called at 10pm
  • You can continue to travel to venues or amenities which are open, but should reduce the number of journeys you make
  • If you live in a tier 2 area, you must continue to follow tier 2 rules when you travel to a tier 1 area
  • Avoid travel to or overnight stays in tier 3 areas other than where necessary
