Sefton carers, how are you feeling?

Sefton carers, how are you feeling? Listening Ear is a telephone support service run by trained volunteers to provide a social befriending service to unpaid carers. Many of our volunteers have been carers themselves and understand the impact caring can have on your physical and mental health. Volunteers contact carers regularly to provide emotional support and listen impartially without judgement, as well as providing information on other services from Sefton Carers Centre.

Service users have said:

  • “The listening ear service has been a valuable outlet for me to just talk about me”
  • “I’ve found my caring role to be very lonely and isolating, the listening ear has been a highlight of my week”
  • “I have built up a good friendship with the listening ear volunteer, they have been there through the good times and hard times of my caring role”
