Big Chat 8

This summer’s Big Chat was a chance for us to feedback in a ‘you said we did’ style session about a number of schemes and initiatives we discussed with residents at previous events. In addition, we asked people for ideas and opinions on how we can balance the books and manage our finances in this challenging time for all NHS organisations.

Freshfield Surgery listening exercise

Patients registered with Freshfield Surgery were invited to give their views as part of an NHS England led 'listening exercise' over the future of the practice.

Pilot scheme for ordering repeat medicines

A new system for ordering repeat prescriptions has now been introduced in all of our member GP practices in Sefton. The practices have signed up to our repeat prescriptions ordering scheme after it showed positive early results in 19 practices that piloted the system from 1 September 2016.

Young people's engagement event

As part of national young people’s ‘Take Over Challenge’ day, we joined forces with Sefton Young Advisors to discuss the best ways of engaging with young people and find out about their experiences of local GP services.

Community services

We reviewed our local community services during the early part of 2016 and as part of this we asked residents for their views and experiences. Community services is the collective name for a wide range of healthcare that is often delivered in clinics and other community venues.

Personal health budgets

We began to design a new Sefton wide policy in 2015 that sets out our approach to offering residents a personal health budget, or PHB. During February 2016 we worked with Sefton Carers Centre to gain views and comments from eligible residents about our planned approach to introducing our new policy.

Trinity GP Practice

Date Exercise Ended - Sunday, January 31, 2016

Ahead of NHS England’s contract for Trinity GP Practice coming to an end we supported the commissioner to review future management options for this service, and to tell patients and carers about the changes.
